Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work in diverse fields, including environmental consulting and IT delivery. I took a break to focus on my family, pursuing my passion for education by training as a primary teacher. I also had the chance to travel and work in Asia, Australia, and America. However, my true passion has always been understanding how people can achieve and maintain better physical health. This drive led me to establish Raw Movement in January 2021, in response to the pressing need for individuals to understand how they move, how to move more efficiently, and how to take ownership of their physical wellbeing. While exercise is essential, I believe that knowledge about movement is even more powerful. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with various organisations and schools, empowering people with simple yet effective strategies to prioritise their physical health, break free from habits that restrict their movement, and cultivate communities that inspire and motivate each other to move more. I live in the Midlands, UK with my family and our dog Tim. I love walking.

When it comes to wellbeing, teachers suffer mostly from two interconnected problems - poor mental health, and musculoskeletal pain. The impacts are significant, because teachers cannot do their best, most creative work when they are not physically well. Often, too, because of the stress of their jobs, teachers have grown so used to not being in their best form that they don’t know that they could feel any different. This active and supportive workshop focuses on musculoskeletal pain and how changing the way that teachers stand, sit, and walk in simple ways can help them to self-manage their physical wellbeing and in turn make some long lasting changes to how the children they teach also take care of their physical wellbeing.
