Donate to build a classroom brick-by-brick

People in the UAE can now contribute towards children’s education under a new Ramadan campaign launched by Dubai Cares.

Their donations will help to build a simulated classroom, allowing people to experience first-hand what their contributions can achieve for children in the developing world.

The Dubai Cares interactive stand will remain at The Dubai Mall’s Star atrium till July 19. Every time someone contributes Dh50, a “brick” will be added to the “brick-by-brick” construction of the virtual classroom. The virtual construction symbolises an actual classroom coming up somewhere in the world.

Donors can leave personalised messages on the bricks as part of the classroom building exercise and get themselves photographed. The photographs will be displayed on the photo wall while participants get the hard copies as souvenirs.

The stand also features a kids’ area where children can paint and pin their artwork on a dedicated wall.

Dubai Cares has created a custom hashtag #whatif for the campaign and is urging people to spread the word through social media platforms.
