Fiona Carter

International Director (Primary and Early Years)

Wellington College International

Fiona Carter is an International Director for Business Development at Wellington Colleges International, focusing on global, strategic partnerships whilst guiding and advising on all aspects of establishing the new schools which are already in the pipeline. She began her career with this prestigious family of schools in China when leading their central office team of educators and has since moved onto being based in the UK whilst travelling extensively to support existing school leaders, both academic and operational, sit on Boards of Governors and look for new opportunities with high quality, educationally like-minded partners. Fiona has a particular responsibility for the Middle East and knows the region well from previous consultancy roles in schools and directly with a number of ministries. Inspecting and advising schools, both state run and independent has led her to expect the highest standards for the pupils served by Wellington Colleges worldwide. Her work in the Early Childhood and Primary Education continues to be universally recognised and is reflected in the pioneering provision offered by the Wellington Family. This unrelenting drive for thought leadership in education and understanding how children develop and learn best is always ready to be shared by her, whilst recognising how much she can learn from others.

SPEAKER SESSIONS

12 November, 2024 | 12:45 to 13:10
Destination Dubai

Multiple factors (and most of them positive!) are driving many schools, school groups and Early Childhood providers to explore new territories, new opportunities to share their ‘legacy’ and recent innovations and are searching for partners and investors who share that vision. Given that there are already amazing providers already established in Dubai, and a dizzying range of choices for parents, why are new entrants to the Middle East targeting Dubai and its counterparts as their next destination? In this session, we invite colleagues to ‘eavesdrop’ on a conversation between Pam Mundy, Executive Director of Pam Mundy Associates and Fiona Carter, International Director of Education as they discuss dreams, decisions and destinations in this ‘armchair chat’.
