Mohammed bin Rashid, Mohamed bin Zayed witness conclusion of UAE Government Annual Meetings

The annual meetings for the UAE government concluded today in Abu Dhabi under chairmanship of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The two-day meeting was attended by more than 450 attendees representing local and federal government, and covered key topics that mainly aims to cement the UAE position as leadership and become number one in the world across the various sectors. “We have laid foundations for strong government agenda that support our vision towards achieving “UAE Centennial 2071” objective, and to became number one in the world across the sectors,” Mohammed bin Rashid said. “We have adopted the work mechanism to achieve “UAE Centennial 2071” objectives… we want to be the best country, and the best government in the world… Our objective is to build the best educational system, and the best economy in the world, and we want our society to be the happiest in the world.” His Highness said. He also said that the “UAE Centennial 2071” aims to maintain the best and the highest sustainable living standards for future generations, based on giving and maintain UAE heritage. He also said that they directed the government to start executing the strategy and the progress will be followed up closely.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the annual meetings has laid foundations for comprehensive national strategy that will further enhance the journey of prosperity and development of the UAE across the various sectors. He also said that the initiatives and projects that have been launched this year, will be reviewed with its progress tracked next years.

The UAE government annual meetings held on September 26 and 27, with attendance by over 450 dignitaries, heads of executives boards through the UAE, ministers, heads of federal government bodies, heads of local government agencies, local directors and executives.

The 30 pillars include economics, infrastructure and housing, health and prevention services, the youth, the environment, energy, higher education and scientific research, media, smart services, science, technology and innovation, gender balance, government excellence and more. A series of workshops and specialised lectures are being held to discuss and prepare for the challenges and opportunities predicted to arise over the next five decades.

The UAE government annual meetings seek to follow up on the objectives and results achieved in the UAE Vision 2021 strategy, which aims to make see the UAE become among the best countries in the world in various fields by 2021. The meetings are also a platform for the largest and most comprehensive gathering of its kind for government at both the local and federal levels. They are an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities in national development and to focus government action in various sectors by creating plans, programmes and policies, as well as harmonizing these initiatives, on the path toward UAE Centennial 2071.
