Hamdan issues education fees resolutions

Fees specified for academic permit of higher education institutes in Dubai Free Zone

Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, on Monday issued a resolution regarding academic attestation and permit fees paid by higher education institutions operating in Dubai free zone.

The list of fees included in the new resolution No. 37 of 2012 will replace the ones issued in Resolution No. 21 of 2011. The new fees will be implemented once Resolution No. 21 comes into effect.
 
Higher education institutions accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will be required to pay an annual fee of Dh1,000 for a permit. Higher education institutions offering one to five higher education programmes will be required to pay an annual fee of Dh150,000 for an academic permit. Institutes offering six to 10 programmes will pay Dh175,000, while others offering 11 or more programmes will pay Dh200,000.
 
Accreditation for certificates, grades, or any other certificates will cost Dh200 per certificate or education-related document.
 
Shaikh Hamdan issued Resolution No. 29 of 2012 appointing Khalid Ali Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Falasi as Assistant to the Director General of Dubai Municipality for International and Partnership Affairs. Shaikh Hamdan issued Council’s resolution No. 36 of 2012 appointing Mugheer Khamis Al Khayili, Ali Rashid Al Katbi and Amal Mohammad Bin Odai as members of Dubai School of Government’s board of trustees, replacing Qadi Saeed Al Murooshid. The resolutions comes into effect from the date of their issuance and are to be published in the official gazette.
 
Shaikh Hamdan also issued resolution No. 34 of 2012 regarding ambulance services provided by governmental departments and other public service bodies. The resolution obliges all bodies providing ambulance services for its activities and operations to abide by conditions, terms and specification set by Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS). These bodies include governmental departments, authorities, public institutions and their companies and shareholders.
 
The resolution tasks DCAS with ensuring that the aforementioned bodies abide by the set conditions, standards and terms for providing ambulance services in line with the size of their operations. The resolution nullifies any other resolutions that contradicts its bylaws. The resolution comes into effect from the date of its issuance and is to be published in the official gazette.
