Driven through seeing the achievement of my students and the engagement they have in the lessons. Using high performance learning values, questioning and other forms of assessment to foster enthusiasm for Business and Economics, developing links to real world context. I focus on establishing and maintaining strong positive relationships, rooted in support and mutual respect. The pastoral wellbeing of my students has been a keen interest. I have worked on key projects, such as the ATLAS project to support bereaved students. Further developing this interest I have participated in courses related to counselling and psychology to explore mental health of students and promoting this in education. Communication helps support the positive relarionships and is a key strength that I have sought to maintain with other key stakeholders in settings, such as parents in the role of being a form tutor and being the initial link in the chain of contact, and wider industry links. Having a positive rapport and effective communication helps build trust and aids problem solving through cooperative meetings and conversations to agree intended actions. I am extremely passionate about raising aspirations of all students to achieve their intended pathways after school, by endeavouring to bring new experiences to students such as enterprise activities and initiatives.
