I am a skilled and enthusiastic educational leader committed to driving game design and Esports in the MENA region. I'm proud to have been recognised by Epic Games as the first Unreal Authorised Instructor in the UAE. I have over ten years of experience using video games and related software in education. I have led various professional development sessions and delivered keynote speeches on using these tools for the classroom, resulting in sustainable and positive changes in learning. I am also proud to have introduced Esports into the UAE curriculum.
This panel will explore the extensive impact of gaming in education, focusing on its role in developing skills and fostering teamwork. We will discuss the opportunities that gaming presents for future career pathways and examine the benefits of integrating gaming into today’s school curricula.
I have witnessed the growth and adoption of XR across several industries; I firmly believe that this technology, coupled with gaming, can be a paradigm shift for education. As this is a reasonably new technology, there are limited empirical studies; I want to show that it is not outside the realm of possibility that XR can be a paradigm shift for education, as it has been for many industries.
